Responsibilities
Perform electrical studies including power flow (transit) analysis, short-circuit studies, incident energy analysis (arc flash) and power quality/waveform analysis;
Model and analyze networks using tools such as EasyPower, ETAP, ASPEN, CymDIST and HOMER;
Prepare and review technical reports, specifications and service proposals;
Collaborate with clients and project teams to meet scope, schedule and budget requirements;
Support or lead the preparation of technical service proposals for potential studies.
Requirements
Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering (specialization in power systems)
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for membership in a provincial engineering association
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in power systems studies and network analysis
Proficiency with power system software (EasyPower, ETAP, ASPEN and others)
Experience performing studies such as power flow, short-circuit, incident energy (arc flash) and power quality/waveform analysis
Experience with transient studies (EMTP) and MALT (CDEGS) is an asset
Strong communication skills and sound critical-thinking ability
Knowledge of protection and control systems for electrical networks
Familiarity with relevant IEEE, NEC or IEC standards
