About the role

  • Engineer designing mechanical systems for industrial buildings. Collaborating on complex industrial projects across Quebec at Stantec.

Responsibilities

  • Design and size ventilation, heating, plumbing and process systems tailored to industrial environments (factories, processing centers, warehouses, etc.);
  • Prepare drawings, specifications and technical calculations according to the specific needs of industrial processes;
  • Draft and approve technical reports and design studies;
  • Conduct on-site surveys in existing industrial facilities;
  • Work closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams to fully understand operational and technical constraints;
  • Participate in project planning and coordination;
  • Provide expertise in optimizing mechanical and energy systems;
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and requirements specific to industrial environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering;
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in building mechanical systems, ideally in an industrial context;
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ);
  • Experience designing for heavy industrial environments (strong asset);
  • ASP Construction card (asset);
  • Familiarity with Revit, BIM and the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Strong command of French, both written and spoken;
  • Knowledge of English (asset) to collaborate with teams or clients outside Quebec;
  • Motivated by challenges and solution-seeking.
