About the role

Intermediate Hydrotechnical Engineer working with water resources projects at Stantec. Involves developing hydrodynamic models, collaborating with teams, and technical reporting.

Responsibilities

Develop hydrodynamic models using tools such as MIKE 3, MIKE 21, and Telemac and coding languages (python, R, Matlab) to support coastal and river engineering projects
Demonstrate solid understanding of coastal process including wave transformation and sediment transport
Apply a strong understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic principles, with proficiency in HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and PCSWMM
Prepare clear and comprehensive technical reports documenting field investigations, analytical findings, and interpretations
Support proposal development and assist in creating work plans, project schedules, and budgets, while managing assigned projects and tasks
Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams, contributing to a cohesive and productive work environment
Demonstrate a solid understanding and consistent application of industry standards, guidelines, and regulatory frameworks
Perform primarily office-based work, involving extended periods of computer use and data analysis

Graduate degree in Engineering with a focus on hydrodynamics, water resources, or hydrology
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in consulting or regulatory environments
Mining experience is an asset, specifically mine water balances and mine water management.
Regular use of hydrodynamic modeling tools
Professional registration with APGNS or Engineers NS (or equivalent provincial entity) or eligibility to obtain P.Eng. or P.Geo.
Valid G-class driver’s license required
