Intermediate Process Engineer working on water and wastewater projects across Ontario for Stantec. Involves engineering calculations, design, client interaction, and project management.
Responsibilities
Consistently demonstrate a commitment to the Health and Safety culture within Stantec
Take a self-directed role and manage multiple projects with competing deadlines effectively; provide timely and concise feedback to supervisory staff.
Contribute to conceptual design basis reports, engineering assessments, data analysis and design calculations.
Prepare detailed technical analysis of existing or in support of the design of water and wastewater facilities.
Contribute to the preparation of construction specifications, tender documents, and applications for approvals to regulators on behalf of clients.
Support the preparation of engineering calculations, design drawings, technical specifications, and construction documents.
Maintain positive relationships with clients, vendors, consultants, and regulators as needed always using a professional communication approach.
Conduct occasional site visits to support proposals, project development, or business development.
Inspect and review projects during construction, which may include monitoring conformance with contract documents, reviewing the progress of construction activities, and ensuring cost, schedule and quality standards are met.
Assist the project manager or lead engineer in preparation of proposals and technical reports.
Assist project technical leads in managing project deliverables and schedule.
Ability to work in a flexible office environment, including working within the office setting, or working remote from home where required.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Chemical, Environmental, or Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 8 years of water and wastewater engineering related work experience within a consulting environment.
Licensed Professional Engineer desired or ability to obtain within 12 months.
Understanding of general concepts of relevant areas of water and wastewater engineering.
Basic understanding of construction survey and field measurement.
Ability to participate and collaborate in a project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.
Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet project budget and schedule.
Demonstrated creativity, foresight, and engineering judgment in anticipating and solving problems.
Understanding of engineering concepts and ability to communicate ideas to others.
Strong presentation, technical, and soft communication skills.
Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite is required; proficiency in engineering applications such as AutoCAD and Revit software packages are considered an asset.
Holds a valid drivers’ license.
