Technician specializing in building mechanics with expertise in plumbing and HVAC system integration. Contributing to complex plumbing system designs and interdisciplinary project coordination.
Responsibilities
Design and model plumbing systems (domestic, sanitary, stormwater, gas)
Participate in the design of heating and cooling systems in collaboration with the team
Produce plans and technical specifications
Perform site surveys and create as-built drawings of existing installations
Perform sizing calculations for mechanical systems
Contribute to cost estimates and solution optimization
Ensure coordination with other disciplines (architectural, structural, electrical)
Validate compliance with applicable codes, standards, and internal guidelines
Review shop drawings and respond to technical queries (TQs)
Support site teams and provide technical follow-up on projects
Support and supervise junior technicians as needed
Requirements
DEC (Diploma of College Studies) in Building Mechanics or equivalent
10+ years of design experience, primarily in plumbing
Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit
Hands-on experience with large multidisciplinary projects
Good understanding of HVAC (heating/cooling) systems
Very good knowledge of applicable codes and standards
Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently, and excellent organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Team player with strong communication skills
Functional bilingualism (French/English) is an asset
