About the role
- Mining Engineer leading engineering for mining studies and projects at Stantec, ensuring innovative and sustainable solutions in the mining industry.
Responsibilities
- Lead mine engineering for mining studies/projects of varying size and complexity.
- Work with clients to deliver safe, responsible, and innovative solutions.
- Manage small to mid-size projects.
- Work with resource block models to design mine access, mining methods, and infrastructure.
- Prepare mine development and production plans and schedules.
- Estimate performance productivities and support capital and operating costs preparation.
- Lead meetings and interface with clients, external consultants, contractors, and vendors.
- Conduct quality assurance and control on own projects and peers' projects.
- Support the development of standards and specifications for the mining group.
- Prepare technical reports.
Requirements
- Mining Engineering Degree from an accredited university.
- Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in underground hard rock mining.
- Project Management experience an asset.
- Advanced skills with 3D Mine Design software (Deswik required).
- Advanced skills with Mine Scheduling Software (Deswik required).
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite of Products.
- Familiar with Mine Health and Safety Regulations.
- Experience with ventilation modelling an asset.
- Experience with backfill systems is an asset.
- Experience with rock mechanics is an asset.
