About the role

  • Senior Geotechnical Engineer at Stantec supporting infrastructure design and construction across Canada. Leading complex analyses, mentoring teams, and driving innovation in geotechnical projects.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design, analysis, and construction of all types of infrastructure projects across Canada.
  • Lead complex analysis using state of the practice software
  • Manage and coordinate geotechnical-focused and multidisciplinary project teams, commensurate with your experience and capabilities.
  • Mentor colleagues across a breadth of experience fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and build strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and industry partners.
  • Contribute to business development, proposal preparation, and market expansion initiatives.
  • Drive innovation by leading or contributing to digitization initiatives, advancing state of practice analyses, market research, and the development of emerging technologies, with a focus on climate change adaptation, risk, and liability reduction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geological, Civil, or Geotechnical Engineering (Master’s or PhD an asset).
  • 15+ years of relevant industry experience in British Columbia.
  • Knowledge of relevant British Columbia and Canadian codes, guidelines and standards.
  • Experience with geotechnical software solutions (GeoStudio™, LeapFrog, Rocscience).
  • Demonstrated ability to work and manage projects independently.
  • Proactive approach and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Passion for making a positive impact through engineering.
  • Effective communication skills, including report writing and client engagement.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, continuous improvement and mentorship of developing engineers.
  • Commitment to technical excellence and mentorship. Active participation in professional associations and technical communities is an asset.
