About the role
- Senior Structural Bridge Engineer managing engineering assignments and leading projects for bridge designs. Joining Stantec to enhance infrastructure development and transportation effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Act as project manager, structural lead and designer for engineering assignments
- Attend site visits related to pre-design information gathering, construction and post-construction review
- Coordinate work with clients and other disciplines including highway/road, electrical, drainage and environmental planning
- Analyze and evaluate appropriate design solutions and design of transportation structures including bridges, culverts, retaining walls and foundations
- Provide direction to project team members and support staff through verbal and written instructions
- Direct CAD team for drawing preparation and review deliverables before submission to the client
- Conduct business development activities to secure new projects by client liaison and proposal preparation
- Prepare and review technical reports, tender documents and cost estimate
- Provide tender evaluations and/or construction engineering services
- Work within assigned project budgets and schedules
- Supervise and mentor junior staff concerning project work
Requirements
- Experience in project management
- B.A.Sc. or B.Eng. in civil/structural engineering, with strong interest and experience in bridge engineering
- P.Eng and 10+ years' experience in leading large transportation structures projects
- Valid driver's license
- Strong computer skills, including experience with SAP2000, CSiBridge, SFRAME
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work in a team environment and excel in both bridge and multi-disciplined projects.
- Proven ability to supervise, direct and mentor junior staff
- Demonstrated interest in business development activates and preparation of proposals
- Organized and detail-oriented
