About the role

Senior Fullstack Developer on Stay22's Neuro team designing and building robust backend systems. Focused on AI/ML infrastructure for applications that enhance monetization for digital creators.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end AI/ML pipelines and services, from data preparation to model deployment and real-time inference engines, to support Stay22's AI products.
Develop the backend and APIs for the Roam engine (ML-based redirection), ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability.
Build and maintain internal client/gateway layers for large language models (LLMs), enabling product teams to leverage these models for features like content suggestion and classification.
Collaborate with the ML engineering team to integrate trained models into production services and with the Data team to optimize the pipelines that feed those models.
Work with the Forge/platform team to set up and maintain cloud infrastructure (GCP), CI/CD pipelines, monitoring/logging, and security best practices for all AI systems.
Develop internal developer services and tools to facilitate experimentation and AI adoption, serving as an internal AI/ML "platform" for other teams.
Ensure backend systems are well documented, maintainable, and high performing at scale by identifying and resolving bottlenecks, implementing optimizations as needed, and upholding high standards of quality and testing.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, with over 8 years of experience in software development focused on backend systems.
Advanced proficiency in Python and modern backend frameworks (e.g., FastAPI), with strong experience designing and developing scalable APIs and microservices. (Experience with TypeScript/Node.js is a plus but not required.)
Experience deploying services on cloud platforms (ideally Google Cloud Platform) and expertise with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). Familiarity with GCP services such as Vertex AI is an advantage.
Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and asynchronous task management systems (e.g., Celery), with experience optimizing schemas and queries.
Understanding of ML workflows and the challenges of putting models into production (data pipelines, inference latency, etc.). Experience with ML infrastructure (Vertex AI, TensorFlow Serving, or equivalent) is a plus.
Proficiency in CI/CD, automated testing, and monitoring/alerting (logs, metrics, tracing) to ensure system reliability and security.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills: able to work effectively with ML, Data, and Platform teams to align interfaces and standards.
Self-motivated and able to solve problems independently in a hybrid work environment.
