About the role

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality online instruction aligned with course and program learning outcomes
  • Facilitate engaging and respectful discussions related to Indigenous health, culture, history, and contemporary perspectives in Canada
  • Develop and implement evidence-informed and culturally responsive learning activities and assessments
  • Assess and evaluate student learning while providing timely and constructive feedback
  • Maintain accurate academic and administrative records
  • Participate in faculty orientation, meetings, and required administrative activities

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience within a post-secondary institution
  • Master’s degree required; PhD or doctoral-level education preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise related to Indigenous health, culture, history, and/or Indigenous studies
  • Experience teaching in an online learning environment and working with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Moodle is considered an asset
  • Strong communication, facilitation, organizational, and scholarly skills
  • Commitment to culturally safe, inclusive, and respectful teaching practices
  • Ability to foster meaningful student engagement and dialogue in an online learning environment
