About the role
- iOS Developer building secure native iOS features for Sun Life’s financial services. Collaborating in agile teams and coaching developers on mobile engineering best practices.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-quality, secure, and reliable iOS features for Sun Life’s financial services
- Collaborate with Scrum Masters, Mobile Developers, Business System Analysts, UX architects, and Testing Specialists
- Act as a technical reference and coach junior iOS developers on best practices
- Participate in scrum ceremonies to plan, estimate, design, develop, and test features for production deployment
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards
- Write unit and integration tests
- Identify and troubleshoot application issues and provide timely resolutions
- Work on projects involving third-party and offshore teams
- Participate in discovery and evaluation of new technologies
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering or equivalent education/experience
- 2+ years of experience with native mobile development on iOS, including continuous integration and automation
- Strong experience working in an Agile environment and participating in scrum ceremonies
- Experience with at least one modern architecture pattern (MVVM, VIPER) and ability to implement it in production applications
- Proficiency in SwiftUI
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools, including continuous integration and deployment, version control, and automated testing
- Familiarity with TDD or BDD and ability to write unit and integration tests using XCTest or Swift Testing
- Experience creating and releasing complex iOS applications to the App Store
- Ability to build, debug, profile, and optimize iOS apps, including memory management
- Understanding of mobile application UX and iOS Human Interface Guidelines
- Understanding of iOS security principles and best practices, including secure data storage, encryption, and authentication
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good organizational and time management skills
- English is a requirement for this role
- Nice to have: Combine, async/await, RESTful web services, HTTP, JSON/XML, UIKit, Storyboards, RxSwift, Jenkins, Splunk, Artifactory, Java/Spring Boot, backend development, AI-powered development tools, and working knowledge of French
