About the role
- IT Finance Manager leading financial planning, reporting, modeling, and cost optimization for Sun Life’s technology portfolios. Partnering with IT delivery teams and business units across Toronto and Waterloo.
Responsibilities
- Define, lead and influence the DBTS finance strategy
- Lead DBTS financial tracking, monitoring and cost optimization initiatives
- Manage monthly reporting, forecasting and budgeting cycles
- Identify financial risks and opportunities and provide ad hoc reports and analysis
- Review enterprise-wide license agreements to validate spend and understand accounting treatment
- Lead DBTS financial cost modeling and business casing
- Support the broader finance team with ad hoc projects
- Partner with DBTS IT delivery teams, stakeholders and business units on finance-related decisions
Requirements
- 5 to 7 years of experience working in Financial Planning and Analysis (FPA)
- Accounting designation (CPA) or equivalent relevant business experience
- Experience in financial modeling, contract renewal/RFP analysis and business casing
- Experience and proficiency with Hyperion, Excel (pivot tables, V-look ups, financial modeling, etc.), and PowerPoint
- Experience in leading and mentoring a team of financial analysts
- Extensive experience in building and operating financial controls and analysis
- Financial reporting and data analytics skills
- Proven track record of partnering with and influencing business units to drive results
- Ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges
- Experience in working with large, complex organizations is an asset
- Prior experience with Information Technology management is an asset
