About the role
- Senior network engineer designing enterprise micro-segmentation and Zero Trust solutions for Sun Life’s global financial services operations. Engineering secure hybrid, cloud, and on-premises network infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strategy and roadmaps for network technology domains
- Design, engineer, communicate, and deliver complex end-to-end network solutions
- Design, implement, and operationalize enterprise micro segmentation solutions across on-premise, cloud, and hybrid environments
- Provide technical leadership or subject matter expertise within projects
- Deliver high-level and detailed-level designs with security, resiliency, tolerance, sizing, and agility considerations
- Produce just-in-time and solution release documentation
- Contribute to network infrastructure and service operations, maintenance, and evolution
- Perform proofs of concept, lifecycle management, proactive health and performance analysis, degradation remediation, and incident remediation
- Advance automation, data and analytics, DevOps, API, and digital asset technologies within Network Services infrastructure and functional engineering
- Create and manage business requirements, business processes, operational standards, and procedures
- Develop comprehensive engineering and architecture documentation
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Network Security, Cybersecurity, or Infrastructure Engineering
- Strong understanding of micro segmentation and Zero Trust Architecture
- Strong understanding of Network Segmentation and East-West Traffic Controls
- Strong understanding of Layer 3-7 networking concepts
- Strong understanding of firewall policy design and enforcement
- Strong understanding of Application Dependency Mapping (ADM)
- Strong understanding of Least Privilege security models
- Experience implementing or managing Akamai Guardicore (preferred)
- Experience implementing or managing Illumio
- Experience implementing or managing Cisco Secure Workload / Tetration
- Experience implementing or managing Zero Networks
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, Routing, and Switching
- Knowledge of DNS and DHCP
- Knowledge of F5 load balancers
- Knowledge of Linux and Windows Server platforms
- Hands-on experience with AWS Security Groups
- Hands-on experience with Azure Network Security Groups
- Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere / VCF
- Hands-on experience with VMware NSX
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes Network Policies
- Hands-on experience with container security
