About the role
- Senior micro-segmentation engineer designing Zero Trust solutions for Sun Life’s global financial-services operations. Securing on-premises, cloud, and hybrid enterprise environments.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strategy and roadmaps for network technology domains
- Design, engineer, communicate, and deliver complex end-to-end network solutions globally
- Design, implement, and operationalize enterprise micro segmentation solutions across on-premise, cloud, and hybrid environments
- Provide technical leadership or subject matter expertise within projects
- Deliver high-level and detailed-level designs considering security, fault resiliency, tolerance, sizing, and agility
- Produce just-in-time and solution release documentation
- Contribute to network infrastructure operations, maintenance, and evolution through POC, LCM, proactive health and performance analysis, degradation remediation, and incident remediation
- Advance automation, data and analytics, DevOps, API, and digital asset technologies
- Create and manage business requirements, business processes, and operational standards and procedures
- Develop comprehensive engineering and architecture documentation
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Network Security, Cybersecurity, or Infrastructure Engineering
- Strong understanding of micro segmentation and Zero Trust Architecture
- Strong understanding of Network Segmentation and East-West Traffic Controls
- Strong understanding of Layer 3-7 networking concepts
- Strong understanding of firewall policy design and enforcement
- Strong understanding of Application Dependency Mapping (ADM)
- Strong understanding of least privilege security models
- Experience implementing or managing Illumio
- Experience implementing or managing Cisco Secure Workload / Tetration
- Experience implementing or managing Zero Networks
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, Routing, and Switching
- Knowledge of DNS and DHCP
- Knowledge of Load Balancers (F5)
- Knowledge of Linux and Windows Server platforms
- Hands-on experience with AWS Security Groups
- Hands-on experience with Azure Network Security Groups
- Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere / VCF
- Hands-on experience with VMware NSX
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes Network Policies
- Hands-on experience with container security
- Experience with Akamai Guardicore is highly preferred
- Experience with VMware, Kubernetes, AWS, and enterprise-scale security operations is highly preferred
