About the role
- Frontend Engineer building Supabase’s open-source developer tools and Studio product. Shipping React features, quality pipelines, and end-to-end improvements for millions of developers.
Responsibilities
- Own frontend tooling for Supabase’s marketing/docs website and core product, Studio
- Ship products and features from 0→1 through production
- Use support threads, usage data, and direct user conversations to guide product iteration
- Build and improve quality pipelines covering type safety, linting, formatting, unit and component tests, API contract tests, accessibility, visual regression, and bundle-size budgets
- Add checks to prevent recurring regressions
- Work end-to-end across frontend UI, API contracts, preview deployments, and observability
- Operate autonomously in a public codebase read and contributed to by thousands of developers
- Review AI-generated code, improve architecture, and establish verification guardrails
- Communicate asynchronously and manage work independently
Requirements
- Track record of taking a product from 0→1, launching it to real users, and iterating based on feedback
- Deep frontend fundamentals and strong React skills
- TypeScript proficiency
- Understanding of SSR, streaming, server components, and edge technologies
- Experience building quality and tooling pipelines
- Experience with Vitest, Playwright, MSW, or equivalent tools
- Comfort reviewing and guiding AI coding agents
- Ability to work autonomously, manage time, communicate clearly in writing, and thrive without assigned tickets
