About the role

  • Associate Quality Engineer automating functional and non-functional software tests for TD, a major North American bank. Integrating resilient test suites into CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to test planning, hands-on test design/development/maintenance, test case automation, and test execution
  • Define test data and environment requirements
  • Analyze business requirements, design specifications, and architecture blueprints to develop in-scope tests
  • Analyze, develop, debug, and maintain automated and manual test suites and traceability matrices
  • Log defects and assist in defect resolution
  • Provide feedback throughout development and design; analyze and report test results
  • Use test automation frameworks and test management tools
  • Leverage virtual assets to virtualize incomplete or unavailable code, services, and databases
  • Use test data management and automated test data provisioning capabilities
  • Leverage DevOps tools and processes, source code management, service virtualization, and monitoring tools
  • Implement functional and non-functional automation, including performance, reliability, accessibility, and security testing
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD/CT pipelines
  • Document end-to-end test solution designs, update knowledge bases, and identify early automation opportunities
  • Collaborate with developers to define and validate user stories, acceptance criteria, and Definition of Done/Ready
  • Apply BDD/TDD principles and focus on value-driven outcomes
  • Provide quality, performance, user experience, and bug-prevention feedback, reporting, and analytics
  • Participate in communities of interest and proof-of-concept initiatives
  • Identify decisions, risks, lessons learned, and enhancements
  • Deliver solutions meeting project milestones, deliverables, budget, QE, and quality standards
  • Support enterprise technology delivery practices, standards, documentation, estimates, scope, and cost
  • Identify and manage risks and escalate non-standard or high-risk activities
  • Participate fully as a team member and support a positive, diverse, and equitable work environment
  • Share knowledge, support training/coaching, and keep stakeholders informed of project status
  • Report to a Practice lead

Requirements

  • BS degree in Computer Science or related Engineering discipline; or equivalent practical experience
  • Less than 2 years of relevant experience
  • Basic working knowledge of specific domain or engineering frameworks, technology, tools, processes, and procedures
  • Basic knowledge of coding practices, testing, and debugging to develop and maintain resilient automated test scripts
  • Basic debugging and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to perform low to moderately complex testing automation under general supervision
  • Ability to quickly learn TD applications, systems, best practices, business/organization, and Bank standards
  • Ability to develop and execute reliable automated tests based on requirements and/or specifications
  • Ability to code, test own code, and debug resilient test automation scripts
  • Knowledge of quality engineering practices/procedures, internal policies/procedures, and applicable regulatory guidelines
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a team player
  • Must acknowledge applicable provincial or territorial employment regulations in Canada
