About the role

  • Data Science Co-op/Intern at TD interpreting data and supporting analytics solutions. Engaging with peers and developing skills in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for interpreting data, producing insights, creating relevant collateral/data visualization reports, and recommending actions on complex issues to support business needs.
  • Perform Python/SQL data queries and support data sets for analysis/modelling, including cleaning data and feature engineering.
  • Analyze large, spatially enabled data sets and identify trends and insights to inform business decisions; communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Support team members and business partners to develop, test and deploy analytics solutions, for example: forecasting, optimization, or models.
  • Proactively identify and solve for business problems and opportunities where a data-driven solution would be appropriate and develop proposals/approaches.
  • Collaborate with business partners to support the business case development process for analytics solutions.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a recognized undergraduate or graduate degree majoring in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Science, Statistics, Business, Data Analytics, Business/Commerce or related field with the intent of going back to school at the start of your work term.
  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree with the intent of going back to school at the start of your work term.
  • Strong statistical and analytical skills and interest are necessary.
  • Strong proficiency in one or more of Python, SQL, or other data-related programming languages.
  • Knowledge in spatially enabled data, geospatial processing tools/platforms.
  • Knowledge in one or more Azure, R, AWS, Databricks and Github is a plus.
  • Knowledge in Tableau and/or PowerBI.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with the ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team environment.
