About the role

  • Personal Banker Trainee advising TD Canada Trust customers on investments, credit, and financial planning. Serving Mandarin- and Cantonese-speaking clients across the Toronto-area assigned district.

Responsibilities

  • Advise customers on financial solutions across investment and credit banking products
  • Ask thoughtful financial questions to engage customers and deepen relationships
  • Provide personalized financial advice, answer questions, and address concerns
  • Raise customer matters appropriately to team members or partners while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy
  • Act as a point of contact for frontline staff handling customer problems
  • Maintain professional space in common areas according to marketing and regulatory guidelines
  • Conduct financial reviews, discuss portfolio updates, and suggest personalized solutions
  • Stay knowledgeable about emerging issues, regulations, and industry codes of conduct
  • Participate in process improvement opportunities
  • Achieve and improve service-level agreements and productivity targets
  • Prepare documents consistently with relevant regulations and business intentions
  • Participate fully as a team member, assist and mentor others, and address communication issues efficiently

Requirements

  • High school diploma and/or 1 year of relevant experience
  • Post-Secondary or Undergraduate degree in a related field is an asset
  • Completion of IFIC or equivalent required
  • CFSA must be completed within 12 months if hired
  • Real estate secured lending and/or investment experience is an asset
  • Sound knowledge of advanced investing and credit processes, banking solutions, and concepts
  • Proficiency in MS Office and internet applications
  • Tactful communication skills for exchanging ideas and customer information concisely and logically
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills
  • Cantonese and/or Mandarin language proficiency required
  • Mobility within the assigned district and region is a condition of employment
