About the role

  • Cloud Engineer building Infrastructure as Code and observability platforms for TD, a major North American bank. Supporting Azure, GCP, private cloud, and enterprise monitoring services.

Responsibilities

  • Develop solutions using DevOps pipelines to deploy Infrastructure as Code for Observability platforms
  • Enable Dynatrace, Datadog, and Splunk observability solutions across Azure, GCP, and private cloud platforms
  • Use Terraform, Saltstack, and Ansible to orchestrate cloud infrastructure
  • Provide technical and consulting support to project teams deploying infrastructure as code
  • Act as a subject matter expert with varying degrees of supervision
  • Develop self-service infrastructure provisioning, delivery pipelines, log and monitoring services
  • Analyze business and technology challenges and recommend IT solutions and services
  • Resolve issues spanning multiple systems or departments that may affect application stability
  • Track open issues and their resolutions
  • Troubleshoot operational infrastructure and software issues
  • Support application availability and stability across multiple environments

Requirements

  • Capable of applying DevOps practices to develop Infrastructure/Platform as Code using Saltstack, Terraform, and Ansible
  • Fluent in writing effective and scalable Python code
  • Experience with Java, .NET, or NodeJS
  • Expertise in containerization with Kubernetes
  • Ability to write shell scripts
  • 4 Year Degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of related experience as a Cloud Engineer
  • Sound knowledge of Azure services
  • Skilled in system-level architecture, including Linux or Windows, or prior system engineer/administrator experience
  • Strong background in system design, development, architecture, and application deployment
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Ability to perform detailed analysis of business problems and technical environments
  • Ability to troubleshoot infrastructure and software operational issues
  • Experience with Enterprise Delivery Pipeline and CADP preferred
  • Experience developing self-service infrastructure provisioning, delivery pipelines, log and monitoring services in VMware, Azure, or GCP preferred
  • Azure or GCP cloud certification preferred
  • Understanding of code development and deployment processes, source code configuration management, and DevOps best practices
  • Ability to analyze business and technology challenges and recommend appropriate IT solutions
  • Ability to resolve issues across multiple systems or departments
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented
