About the role
- Technical Writer Intern aiding Tecsys in documenting WMS software using DITA standards. Creating web help and standalone documents while learning about technical writing tools.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the updating of our documentation using the Oxygen tool suite and following the DITA standard.
- Create web help as well as additional standalone documents.
- Focus on our WMS (warehouse management system) software.
Requirements
- Strong writing skills, ideally demonstrated through technical writing samples
- Experience with authoring tools such as Oxygen, Structured FrameMaker, or XMetaL
- Understanding of structured authoring principles and DITA concepts
- A curious technical mindset — you don't need to code, but you should be comfortable understanding and communicating technical ideas clearly
- Strong proficiency in both written and verbal English communication essential for effective correspondence with clients, suppliers, business partners and colleagues beyond the province of Quebec.
- Familiarity with agile software development practices
- Experience in a warehouse environment and/or understanding of warehouse terminology and processes
- Familiarity with basic Git operations (committing, branching, merging)
- Strong command of French
