Technical Writer Intern aiding Tecsys in documenting WMS software using DITA standards. Creating web help and standalone documents while learning about technical writing tools.
About the role
- Stagiaire en rédaction technique responsable de la mise à jour de la documentation pour Tecsys. Participation à des projets d'écriture tout en collaborant avec des équipes techniques et clients.
Responsibilities
- Assist with updating our documentation using the Oxygen tool suite and following the DITA standard
- Create online help and supplementary documents
- Work primarily on our WMS (warehouse management system) software
Requirements
- Strong writing skills, ideally demonstrated by technical writing samples
- You must include a writing sample (1,000 words or less) and a full transcript (if currently enrolled or a recent graduate) to be considered
- Experience with authoring tools such as Oxygen, Structured FrameMaker, or XMetaL
- Understanding of structured authoring principles and DITA concepts
- A curious technical mindset — coding is not required, but you should be comfortable understanding and clearly communicating technical ideas
- Strong command of written and verbal English for effective correspondence with clients, vendors, business partners and colleagues outside the province of Quebec
- Familiarity with agile software development practices
- Experience in a warehouse environment and/or understanding of warehouse terminology and processes
- Familiarity with basic Git operations (commit, branch, merge)
- Strong proficiency in French
