About the role
- Registered Nurse providing family and travel health services at TELUS Health’s Vancouver clinic. Delivering assessments, vaccinations, triage, care planning, and chronic disease management.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care for TELUS Health Family Health and Travel Health Programs
- Meet one-on-one with travel health clients to provide counseling, vaccinations, medications, and general health advice
- Review clients’ medical histories and discuss BC Centre for Disease Control requirements and recommendations for safe travel
- Assess care needs upon intake and triage acute concerns
- Navigate clients to appropriate services
- Provide disease prevention, health promotion, and chronic and complex disease care and management across the lifespan
- Provide direct nursing support and services to clients and the interdisciplinary team
- Coordinate and manage client care
- Conduct health assessments, immunizations, procedures, and regular patient follow-up
- Develop, assess, implement, and evaluate care plans
- Apply current guidelines, practice standards, and medical directives
- Communicate and work effectively with physicians and the interdisciplinary team
- Provide safe, competent, and compassionate care
Requirements
- BScN required, or Nursing Diploma for BC
- Interest in pediatric and maternity care
- Current RN certification and license in good standing
- Current First Aid/CPR certification
- Minimum 3 years of nursing experience in the private or public sector
- BC CDC immunization course completed and up to date preferred
- Previous primary care or acute care experience is an asset
- Computer skills, including EMR, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word, are an asset
- Thorough knowledge of primary care nursing within the scope of the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives
- Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills
- Positive and results-focused attitude
- Ability to take initiative and demonstrate proactive/preventive approaches to care
