About the role

  • Registered Nurse providing family and travel health services at TELUS Health’s Vancouver clinic. Delivering assessments, vaccinations, triage, care planning, and chronic disease management.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care for TELUS Health Family Health and Travel Health Programs
  • Meet one-on-one with travel health clients to provide counseling, vaccinations, medications, and general health advice
  • Review clients’ medical histories and discuss BC Centre for Disease Control requirements and recommendations for safe travel
  • Assess care needs upon intake and triage acute concerns
  • Navigate clients to appropriate services
  • Provide disease prevention, health promotion, and chronic and complex disease care and management across the lifespan
  • Provide direct nursing support and services to clients and the interdisciplinary team
  • Coordinate and manage client care
  • Conduct health assessments, immunizations, procedures, and regular patient follow-up
  • Develop, assess, implement, and evaluate care plans
  • Apply current guidelines, practice standards, and medical directives
  • Communicate and work effectively with physicians and the interdisciplinary team
  • Provide safe, competent, and compassionate care

Requirements

  • BScN required, or Nursing Diploma for BC
  • Interest in pediatric and maternity care
  • Current RN certification and license in good standing
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification
  • Minimum 3 years of nursing experience in the private or public sector
  • BC CDC immunization course completed and up to date preferred
  • Previous primary care or acute care experience is an asset
  • Computer skills, including EMR, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word, are an asset
  • Thorough knowledge of primary care nursing within the scope of the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives
  • Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Positive and results-focused attitude
  • Ability to take initiative and demonstrate proactive/preventive approaches to care
