About the role

Director managing network planning and engineering, ensuring effective telecommunications infrastructure for TELUS in Canada. Leading teams for robust network performance and strategic effectiveness.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement network build strategies
Lead a team of engineers and technical specialists
Orchestrate planning and execution of outside plant infrastructure work
Develop a long-term strategy for network transformation
Establish and enforce standards for electrical distribution and cooling infrastructure
Manage planning requirements for multiple fiber-optic deployment projects
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners
Identify opportunities to reduce expenditures and optimize design
Stay current with emerging technologies

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (civil, electrical, telecommunications, or a related field) or equivalent professional experience
At least 10 years of experience in telecommunications, fiber-optic network engineering, or related infrastructure
At least 5 years in leadership roles managing large-scale projects and teams
Proven experience in planning and executing large-scale fiber deployment projects
In-depth knowledge of fiber-optic technologies, network design, and telecommunications standards
Expertise in outside plant engineering
Proven knowledge of electrical distribution standards and energy management systems
Excellent project management skills and experience managing budgets over $50 million
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex stakeholder relationships
Excellent problem-solving skills
