About the role
- Mechanical BMG Supervisor overseeing preventive maintenance and equipment reliability at Tenaris’s steel manufacturing mill. Supervising maintenance teams across finishing and hot rolling operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and supervise execution of the Preventive Maintenance plan
- Conduct systematic failure, problem and performance analysis on equipment
- Define corrective actions and generate improvement opportunities
- Ensure application of health, safety and environment standards and practices
- Report incidents or observations, perform inspections, and participate in investigations
- Implement preventive and corrective actions
- Manage performance of direct reports through CBA application and annual performance reviews
- Define maintenance strategies for systems and optimize equipment reliability and maintainability
- Provide technical support to emergency crews and staff areas
- Maintain a visible presence in the mill and provide hands-on technical support on the floor
- Prepare the maintenance cost budget and control costs within agreed limits
- Ensure technical resource availability and suitable minimum stock
- Manage and update the maintenance information system and technical documentation
- Support Engineering in equipment research, assessment, and startup of new equipment
- Interact with internal and external contacts with autonomy
- Comply with Tenaris policies, procedures, management standards, laws, and regulations
- Motivate, coach, communicate with, and develop staff
- Manage HR activities in line with HR norms and procedures
- Protect facilities, equipment, and physical resources from damage, theft, or misuse
- Supervise maintenance activities involving finishing and hot rolling mill equipment
Requirements
- 3+ years experience in industrial maintenance, trades work or hands-on engineering technician is an asset
- 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- Post-secondary education in Mechanical Trade (433a), Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
- Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics
- Familiarity with manufacturing environment safety procedures
- Previous experience with SAP considered an asset
- Ability to work 8-hour days with flexibility based on business needs
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation
- Work performed in a steel manufacturing mill
