GIS Specialist maintaining fiber-network and address data for Ting Internet, a US fiber broadband provider. Supporting internal users, partner audits, CAD conversion, FCC reporting, and geospatial analysis.
Responsibilities
Manage the GIS ticket queue to support internal users
Investigate and correct suspected data issues using plant drawings, maps, aerial and street photographs, and other data sources
Add newly created addresses to systems
Audit partner address releases against delivered services and invoices
Design and use reports, tracking sheets, and automation tools to reconcile partner data
Check and ingest address delivery batches into the database
Track releases for prorated invoicing
Validate partner deliveries against map data
Ingest as-built records from partner and organic construction
Convert CAD formats into structured data for IQGeo and other systems
Maintain IQGeo and other systems of record to reflect network and plant changes
Work with the design team to update IQGeo for physical network changes
Produce FCC reporting outputs twice annually
Download and ingest aggregated FCC data twice annually for business intelligence
Use database queries and geospatial tools to generate reports for internal stakeholders
Requirements
Completed Post-secondary education in Applied Geography, Geographic Information Systems or equivalent experience
3+ years of GIS/AutoCAD/Network documentation system experience
2+ years of demonstrated experience with spatial data, data entry and conversion
2+ years demonstrated outstanding project management skills
Familiarity with IQGeo
Experience with SQL queries, especially PostGIS
Experience with other GIS tools such as ArcGIS Pro is a nice-to-have
Industry and GIS/CAD specific certifications and training preferred
Programming experience with Go, Python, and PostGIS is an asset
Ability to work independently in a largely asynchronous environment
