About the role

  • Class 4 Power Engineer at Tłı̨chǫ Logistics ensuring safe and efficient boiler operations. Working in a unique northern environment at Diavik Diamond Mine with comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate, monitor, start up, and shut down boilers and auxiliary systems (HVAC, refrigeration, etc.)
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment
  • Troubleshoot issues and carry out repairs, including replacing valves, gauges, and filters using hand and power tools
  • Conduct daily boiler water testing, analyze results, and adjust chemical treatments to maintain system integrity
  • Continuously monitor gauges, meters, and control systems to ensure optimal performance
  • Maintain accurate operational logs and service records
  • Support lockout/tagout procedures and prepare equipment for inspections
  • Respond to system alarms or operational issues quickly and effectively
  • Uphold strict safety standards and regulatory compliance at all times

Requirements

  • Valid Class 4 Power Engineer Certificate of Competency (or equivalent)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and control systems
  • Experience performing maintenance in an industrial or remote setting (mining experience is an asset)
  • Ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team in a respectful and collaborative manner
  • Solid understanding of boiler operations, water treatment, and safety procedures
  • Comfortable working in Arctic conditions and physically demanding environments
  • Commitment to safe work practices—no compromises
  • Nice to Have: Experience working in remote or fly-in/fly-out operations
  • Familiarity with computerized building or plant control systems
  • Ability to speak the Tłı̨chǫ language is an asset
