About the role
- Clinical Director leading Mud Club’s gaming-based pediatric occupational therapy program across Canada. Strengthening clinicians, clinical systems, and neurodiversity-affirming virtual care.
Responsibilities
- Lead the clinical quality and direction of Mud Club’s occupational therapy services
- Lead, mentor, and support Occupational Therapists
- Establish standards for OT/OTA supervision and delegation
- Develop and maintain clinical policies, processes, best practices, SOPs, and decision frameworks
- Oversee quality assurance, documentation, continuity of care, clinical risk management, and professional standards
- Provide complex clinical consultation and escalation
- Develop and evaluate new services
- Manage clinical staffing, capacity, and service planning
- Collaborate with families when higher-level clinical support is needed
- Strengthen clinical reasoning, decision-making, competency, and performance development across the team
- Partner with the Lead OTA & Trainer on onboarding, training, and professional development
- Identify program patterns and convert them into improved systems, training, and supports
- Strengthen supervision structures, escalation pathways, quality-review processes, member transitions, family communication, regulatory and privacy practices, and outcome improvement
- Work across clinical, programming, operations, and technology teams
- Provide clinical direction for programming, therapeutic tools, facilitation approaches, new services, community experiences, and member and family resources
- Partner with organizational leadership on staffing, service capacity, clinical risk, and strategic planning
- Evaluate how gaming, VR, AI, digital communities, and new technologies can support occupational therapy practice
Requirements
- Registered Occupational Therapist in Canada
- Significant experience supporting children and adolescents, ideally including neurodivergent youth
- Excellent clinical reasoning
- Experience mentoring and developing other clinicians
- Understanding of neurodiversity-affirming, strengths-based practice
- Comfortable supervising and supporting OT/OTA models
- Ability to navigate complex clinical and family situations
- Clear and thoughtful communication
- Ability to identify patterns and build practical systems
- Ability to balance professional standards with innovation
- Comfortable collaborating across disciplines
- Comfortable making decisions and being accountable
- Experience developing clinical programs, competency frameworks, quality-assurance systems, or scalable healthcare services is a strong asset
- Experience with virtual care, gaming, Minecraft, VR, or online communities is useful but not required
