About the role

  • QA Development Tester ensuring quality of game features from concept to release at Torn Banner Studios. Collaborating with developers and testing across diverse gaming environments.

Responsibilities

  • Execute test cases to a level that provides respective departments with confidence that a feature or update is ready for shipping.
  • Maintain a high written quality of bugs.
  • Collaborate with other Testers on daily smoke tests to provide a pulse check on development health.
  • Perform regression testing on fixed bugs, and exploratory testing on new changes to identify new issues and unexpected knock-ons.
  • Communicate actively with developers and our Community team to reproduce issues encountered during internal and external playtests.
  • Provide constructive feedback on features in development, contributing to the final design.

Requirements

  • Experience as a QA Tester working on an active game project, with the ideal candidate having shipped at least 1 title.
  • Strong bug writing skills and understanding of best practices.
  • Understanding of core QA concepts such as the bug life cycle.
  • Familiarity with Jira or other issue tracking software.
  • Familiarity with Testrail or another test management tool.
  • Strong ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Able to quickly transition between different tasks and projects.
  • Familiarity with PC and console multiplayer games.
  • Eager to learn new skills.
  • Previous experience with multiplayer/network testing.
  • Previous experience with testing on console platforms.
  • Professional experience in beta testing or patch testing with live games.
  • Experience with art pipelines and with testing character art and UI/UX in games.
