About the role
- Senior Software Engineer developing TypeScript and C# business logic for Velixo’s Excel-based ERP reporting solutions. Designing features, fixing bugs, testing code, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines remotely.
Responsibilities
- Develop new features
- Shape high-level user stories into technical designs and discuss them with stakeholders before implementation
- Fix bugs
- Test code with unit tests and integration tests where needed
- Maintain technical debt and refactor code according to best engineering practices
- Conduct code reviews when selected
- Maintain CI/CD pipelines
- Occasionally SSH into development and production servers
- Implement business logic, approximately 70% of the role
- Work on technical design and high-level user story shaping, up to 20% of the role
- Perform UI layout work, approximately 10% of the role
- Contribute as a full-stack developer in a customer- and quality-oriented team
Requirements
- 5 years of software development experience
- College / university degree in a STEM field, or exceptional senior-level track record without a degree
- Good written English skills
- Proficiency in some of TypeScript, C#, ASP.NET Core 8, React, Docker, Nginx, and AWS
- Readiness to work with the full technology stack
- Java, Rust, or Go experience considered for candidates open to switching stacks
- Business-oriented mindset
- Stable internet connection
- Videoconferencing capability with camera on
- Ability to provide at least 3 hours of overlap with the EST (Montreal) time zone
- Reasonably predictable schedule and responsiveness in communications
- Availability of at least 35 hours/week for overseas candidates
- ERP industry experience and basic accounting knowledge are a plus
- Must be fully engaged and not out-staffed or over-employed
