About the role

  • Head of Carbon scaling veritree’s carbon credit resale, partnerships, inventory, and technology enablement. Driving growth for Vancouver-based climate tech company veritree’s restoration-impact platform.

Responsibilities

  • Own the strategic roadmap for veritree’s carbon business across sourcing, sales, storytelling, and technology
  • Identify and evaluate revenue opportunities within carbon resale and monitoring
  • Build veritree’s “charismatic carbon” narrative with Sales and Marketing
  • Represent carbon in company-wide planning and align targets with Corporate Development goals
  • Set portfolio construction strategy and prioritize project developers and geographies with the Carbon Specialist
  • Oversee due diligence frameworks and scoring systems for a credible, audit-ready portfolio
  • Accelerate resale of carbon credits through pricing, buyer/reseller partnerships, and process improvements
  • Build and own a live carbon credit inventory system
  • Own the carbon sales pipeline and forecast in HubSpot
  • Define Sales and BD processes for quoting, reserving, and closing carbon deals
  • Track margin and velocity by project and reseller partner
  • Co-own the roadmap for carbon technology needs and tech-stack integration with Product
  • Translate carbon workflows into scalable, repeatable processes
  • Build partnerships with carbon project developers and nature-based carbon credit offtakers
  • Lead larger and more complex carbon transactions
  • Provide strategic oversight to the carbon team and define its scaling structure

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 10+ years of experience in carbon markets, environmental commodities, or a related sustainability/climate business function
  • Strong understanding of voluntary carbon market mechanics, including project types, verification standards and bodies, and credit issuance/retirement processes
  • Proven track record of structuring partnerships, resale/brokerage deals, or commercial transactions in a new or scaling business line
  • Skilled in building frameworks, scoring systems, and processes for an early-stage function
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias toward action and ownership
  • Ability to operate autonomously in ambiguity and bring structure to a fast-evolving market
  • Strong relationship-building skills with project developers, buyers, and internal stakeholders across Sales, Product, and Operations
  • Pragmatic and business-minded sustainability professional
