About the role

  • Field Safety Advisor developing and implementing field management safety practices in energy sector. Responsible for compliance, training, and monitoring safety performance on projects across Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and support all field management and staff
  • Apply experience in OHS leadership, safe work methodology, and standardized best practices
  • Monitor credentials and qualifications to ensure compliance for employees and subcontractors
  • Identify and mitigate hazards at site including walkthroughs
  • Ensure employees have proper training tickets
  • Compile statistics and write reports
  • Assist with the development and implementation of project specific safety plans & training
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, client specific requirements, and company policy
  • Develop and implement project specific Emergency Response Plans
  • Provide support for hazard assessments prior to project start and during the project lifecycle
  • Conduct H&S training and orientations for personnel
  • Monitor subcontractor safety performance and conduct audits
  • Perform audits and additional inspections
  • Evaluate H&S inspection reports for performance trends
  • Maintain HSE documentation
  • Attend various safety meetings and collaborate with team members

Requirements

  • 5 + years of field OHS Leadership experience in the energy sector, preference to utility construction
  • Minimum, active National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO), professional accreditations (CRSP,CUSP,CHSE etc.) are an asset.
  • Excellent organizational & time management skills, with the strong ability to work independently and / or as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite of programs.
