About the role

  • Labour Market Information Specialist analyzing Canadian employment data for WCG. Producing research, visualizations, and reports supporting employment-services operations and growth.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, understand, analyze and interpret labour market information at national, provincial and community levels
  • Identify and monitor activities, policies and key personnel connected to current and prospective funders/customers
  • Work with the Employment Services and Contract Manager team to evaluate the Service Provider Network and support performance
  • Support research projects within WCG or with third-party collaborators
  • Lead and participate in localization for bid requirements at catchment, community, and neighbourhood levels
  • Disseminate industry knowledge and labour market information through communication materials including graphs, interactive maps, and Resource Spotlight
  • Maintain and update WCG’s Resource Library and best-practice summaries for specific Inclusion Groups
  • Report on inclusion groups within catchments, including population statistics by community and neighbourhood
  • Provide labour market information and data for Annual Business Plans and other funder/customer reports
  • Provide administrative support as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, economics, business administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant education and experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience compiling, analyzing, and presenting labour market information and related data and reports
  • Experience developing, conducting, and analyzing surveys/questionnaires using survey tools that meet FOIPA requirements in Canada
  • Experience with research projects, preferably in the human services industry
  • Experience with government statistical databases, including Statistics Canada Census data
  • Experience organizing and collating data
  • Analytical report-writing skills
  • Advanced to intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Project, and PowerPoint
  • Strong proficiency with Power BI
  • Experience with interactive mapping software such as My Maps and QGIS preferred
  • Aptitude for building custom data visuals such as graphs and interactive maps
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and facilitation skills
  • Strong written communication skills and ability to produce exceptional content for varied audiences under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
  • Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work independently
  • Must successfully pass a Criminal Record Check
  • Must provide a portfolio or work-sample link with the application
