About the role

  • Senior Pipeline Engineer providing technical expertise for belowground pipelines in Canada's oil and gas sector. Involved in design, material selection, and project support.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare Pipeline class location assessments
  • Coordinate with GIS specialist to develop Alignment sheets
  • Perform pipeline design calculations, including wall thickness, hydrotest and HDD
  • Prepare pipeline design reports, and material selection
  • Contribute to engineering specifications, standards, and procedures
  • Complete Material Take Offs (MTOs) and prepare associated Material Requisitions
  • Prepare Construction Work Packages (CWPs)
  • Coordinate procurement bids and conduct technical bid evaluations
  • Identify optimization and operating cost reduction opportunities
  • Ensure construction and field modifications comply with applicable codes, standards, and regulations
  • Provide technical guidance on project designs, cost estimates, and economic justifications
  • Support short- and long-term engineering planning and innovation initiatives

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in any engineering discipline (Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, or Pipeline Engineering preferred)
  • 15+ years of experience with below-ground pipelines
  • Registration with APEGA as a Professional Engineer
  • Familiarity with engineering standards relevant to the Oil & Gas pipeline industry, including CSA, ASME, API, and Alberta Pipeline Rules
  • Recent Western Canadian pipeline experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of the Oil & Gas industry
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment while collaborating with various disciplines
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn and work independently
  • Strong technical writing and oral communication skills in English
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid (office and home) environment
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada at the time of application
