About the role

  • Pension Outsourcing Intern supporting defined benefit plan administration at WTW, a people, risk and capital advisory firm. Performing calculations, data updates, benefit statements, and client support.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and recurring plan administration tasks for clients’ defined benefit plans, including benefit calculations and annual data updates
  • Assist with preparation of benefit statements
  • Work cooperatively with team members to complete tasks and ensure unified service delivery
  • Develop a thorough understanding of pension plan administration
  • Follow and update documentation to maintain complete, accurate work papers and audit trails
  • Learn and use Excellence tools and concepts for efficient, quality output and service delivery
  • Adhere to plan documents and government regulations when administering plans
  • Participate in team meetings and training activities
  • Assist with project work and ad hoc client support services under senior analyst supervision
  • Be accountable to team members

Requirements

  • Current university student enrolled in a program with heavy emphasis on mathematics, such as actuarial mathematics, mathematics, statistics, economics or finance, or another major with significant quantitative coursework
  • Preference for 3rd or 4th year students
  • Work experience demonstrating strong technical and/or client service skills is a plus
  • Passion for solving problems and sharing solutions to exceed client standards
  • Ability to be a self-starter and work independently and cooperatively in a close team environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel
