About the role
- Pension Outsourcing Intern supporting defined benefit plan administration at WTW, a people, risk and capital advisory firm. Performing calculations, data updates, benefit statements, and client support.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and recurring plan administration tasks for clients’ defined benefit plans, including benefit calculations and annual data updates
- Assist with preparation of benefit statements
- Work cooperatively with team members to complete tasks and ensure unified service delivery
- Develop a thorough understanding of pension plan administration
- Follow and update documentation to maintain complete, accurate work papers and audit trails
- Learn and use Excellence tools and concepts for efficient, quality output and service delivery
- Adhere to plan documents and government regulations when administering plans
- Participate in team meetings and training activities
- Assist with project work and ad hoc client support services under senior analyst supervision
- Be accountable to team members
Requirements
- Current university student enrolled in a program with heavy emphasis on mathematics, such as actuarial mathematics, mathematics, statistics, economics or finance, or another major with significant quantitative coursework
- Preference for 3rd or 4th year students
- Work experience demonstrating strong technical and/or client service skills is a plus
- Passion for solving problems and sharing solutions to exceed client standards
- Ability to be a self-starter and work independently and cooperatively in a close team environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel
