About the role

  • Staff Software Developer responsible for integration architecture in a leading Canadian InsurTech company. Collaborating on Salesforce and other system integrations for streamlined operations.

Responsibilities

  • Architect the end-to-end integration and data strategy for Salesforce and its connected production distributed systems.
  • Define data ownership, entity shapes, and single sources of truth across platforms using Entity-Relationship Diagrams (ERDs).
  • Partner with core engineering teams to align system boundaries and architectural standards.
  • Design high-scale integration patterns focused on retries, idempotency, reconciliation, and deep observability.
  • Replace brittle, no-code integrations (like Zapier) with robust, engineered, code-based solutions.
  • Implement Enterprise Best Practices.
  • Leverage deep Salesforce expertise to develop sophisticated, code-driven integrations rather than standard administrative configurations.
  • Establish a robust CI/CD pipeline for integration management, prioritizing configuration-as-code over manual, "click-based" changes in production environments.
  • Partner closely with IT, Product, and various business stakeholders to ensure seamless change management and alignment with broader business goals.
  • Serve as the guiding authority on modern integration technologies, strategies, and enterprise-grade software engineering practices.

Requirements

  • Hands-on Salesforce platform experience in a complex custom-object environment.
  • Production TypeScript experience.
  • Relational database experience (Postgres).
  • Experience building integrations between Salesforce and external systems.
  • Practical distributed-systems experience: idempotency, retries, dead-lettering, backfills, reconciliation, eventual consistency.
  • Practical experience with integration technologies: REST, SOAP, Webhooks.
  • Strong relational data modeling/ERD design; comfortable with Postgres or equivalent.
  • Has built observability around integrations: metrics, alerts, dashboards, runbooks.
  • Salesforce metadata in source control + CI/CD (scratch orgs, sandboxes, deployment automation).
  • Operating credibly at staff/lead level alongside a software engineering organization.

Benefits

  • Remote-first setup for added flexibility
  • Home office allowance to create a comfortable workspace
  • Top-tier tech: "Office in a box" with all necessary tech equipment
  • Half days before public holidays: Enjoy half days before long weekends
  • Flexible health and dental plans for families, including mental health support
  • Health & personal spending accounts to invest in wellness your way
  • Parental leave top-up, because family comes first
  • Education assistance reimbursement for courses, conferences, books, and memberships
  • Opportunities to learn from industry experts and grow your career
  • Weekly Friday huddles to share updates and connect across teams
  • Virtual & in-person team-building events to strengthen our culture
