About the role

  • Therapeutic Specialist driving AbbVie’s gastroenterology sales across Atlantic Canada. Building healthcare-provider relationships, executing brand strategy, and delivering territory performance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop robust business plans to execute brand strategy and tactics in the field
  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed business objectives
  • Build strong partnerships with customers and accounts and develop a high-quality territory plan
  • Create pre-call plans and execute post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance
  • Support key stakeholders' needs, expectations, and challenges to build trusted relationships
  • Execute a call plan that achieves set metrics and optimizes coverage of key customers
  • Build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments and dynamics, accounts, diseases, products, and clinical expertise
  • Share market intelligence with the district manager and team members to align on environmental changes and optimize brand strategy execution
  • Differentiate AbbVie's value proposition with healthcare providers
  • Identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance
  • Place patients at the center of efforts while operating within AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies, and applicable laws and regulations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Proven track record of success in sales and solid presentation skills
  • Strong customer relationship and building skills
  • Passion for taking on challenges and for success
  • Excellent business acumen; strategic, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to predict contingent outcomes from both a customer and competitive perspective
  • Solution-oriented; offers innovative ideas and solutions to maximize business opportunities and address challenges
  • Demonstrated leadership and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Ability to anticipate and respond to changes and navigate ambiguity
  • Team player who builds collaborative partnerships with district colleagues and multiple stakeholders
  • Documented success in leadership and proven capacity to influence and drive change
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Ease with technology and use of various tools/systems for day-to-day tasks
  • Valid driver's license and passport
  • Ability to travel approximately 50%, including overnight travel
  • Availability for some evening/weekend work
