About the role
- Software Engineer II building web, mobile, and scalable API experiences for Affirm’s card acquisition team. Shipping onboarding improvements that attract and convert customers.
Responsibilities
- Break down larger projects into individual tasks, deliver them in multiple phases, and collaborate to ensure timely delivery
- Collaborate with product management, design and analytics on ideation, technical constraints, risks and trade-offs
- Create and monitor metrics for team artifacts and support their operations and availability
- Escalate issues and support keep-the-lights-on and on-call efforts
- Participate in growth and development activities, including the interview process
Requirements
- 1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer
- Experience shipping web apps using declarative UI frameworks like React or Vue
- Experience shipping mobile apps using native or cross-platform languages like React Native
- Experience designing, developing and launching APIs at scale using languages like Kotlin or Python
- Ability to design solutions interacting with multiple software components and write clear, well-tested, extensible code
- Ability to navigate a large code base, debug others' code, and provide code review feedback
- Proactive ownership of professional growth and feedback-seeking
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor's degree in a related field
