About the role
- Principal full-stack developer shaping MaintainX’s industrial work-execution platform. Leading scalable workflows, architecture, and technical direction across desktop and mobile products.
Responsibilities
- Set technical direction for daily customer workflows, including scheduling, parts management, and reporting
- Solve complex product problems involving dense data-heavy interfaces, large datasets, offline behavior, and multi-site scale
- Define architecture and engineering practices for newly formed teams
- Make complex workflows simple on desktop and mobile
- Lead large, ambiguous projects end to end from planning through production
- Partner with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineering leadership on team and adjacent-team roadmaps
- Own long-term technical health, reliability, and performance of a domain
- Drive architecture decisions and write technical proposals
- Mentor senior and staff engineers
- Set code review standards
- Improve tooling, testing, and delivery practices across teams
- Join a team of 5 to 10 people and participate in the on-call rotation
- Own the technical direction of a domain or system within the first 6 months
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional experience building full-stack web or mobile products
- Track record of leading technical work beyond a single team
- Deep hands-on experience with TypeScript, React, and Node.js
- Experience designing systems that held up at scale
- Experience with mobile-first, responsive, iterative development
- Track record of writing maintainable, testable code
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Comfort making progress before the specification is fully settled
- Day-to-day use of AI tools in the development workflow
- Nice to have: GraphQL, React Native, or SQL database experience
- Valuable experience with scheduling or calendar UIs, data-heavy front ends, offline-first or sync architectures, multi-tenant or enterprise platforms, workflow engines, or inventory and transactional systems
