About the role
- Business Analyst improving the Government of Alberta’s 1GX ERP supply-chain systems. Translating business needs into SAP solutions, upgrades, testing, and production support.
Responsibilities
- Provide business analysis and delivery support for 1GX ERP operations, projects, and production environments
- Lead analysis, design, testing, and implementation for releases and features
- Translate business needs into requirements and detailed solution specifications
- Support UAT readiness, test planning, and quality assurance
- Review and control system changes for alignment with standards and plans
- Validate solutions for fit, effectiveness, and compliance
- Identify opportunities to reduce customization and maximize 1GX capabilities
- Triage and investigate escalated incidents, issues, and operational questions
- Coordinate issue resolution with Accenture and stakeholders and provide updates
- Complete impact analysis using 1GX reporting and analytics tools
- Identify process and system gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities
- Recommend changes to improve efficiency, control, and user experience
- Support business cases, analysis, and adoption of new features and tools
- Facilitate workshops, focus groups, and working sessions to confirm requirements
- Provide guidance on integration impacts across 1GX modules and services
- Support change readiness, user adoption, and consistent practices across teams
- Plan deliverables, schedules, risks, and dependencies from initiation through implementation
- Monitor progress, report status, and manage change requests
- Mentor junior analysts and contribute to committees and working groups
- Collaborate with colleagues, business partners, vendors, and stakeholders in virtual and in-person settings
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Science, or an equivalent field
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with SAP, ECC or S/4HANA in Source-to-Contract or Procure-to-Pay modules
- Minimum 2 years of experience in SAP Finance (FI), including financial postings, invoice processing, and integration with procurement and supply chain
- Minimum 2 years of experience with SAP Ariba, Fieldglass, OpenText, and other procurement SaaS applications
- Minimum 2 years of experience with SAP BTP integration, Datasphere, and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)
- Proven expertise working with complex stakeholders and vendors, leading requirements-gathering sessions, and evaluating solution feasibility
- Strong functional knowledge of SAP Supply Chain Management processes
- Solid understanding of public sector procurement practices and frameworks
- Hands-on experience with Procure-to-Pay, Sourcing, and Supplier Management processes in SAP
- Experience in IT testing and validation, particularly for Ariba and Fieldglass updates
- Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills
- Candidates must reside in Alberta
- Final candidates must undergo security screening
- SAP certification in P2P S/4 HANA, Ariba, or Fieldglass is an asset
- Experience with project management, public-sector environments, accounting, budgeting, audit processes, negotiation, and political issues is an asset
- Certified Business Analysis Professional and Project Management Professional designations are assets
