About the role
- Project Manager responsible for the design of hydromechanical equipment for hydroelectric installations. Leading project launches, evaluations, and compliance with contractual obligations while ensuring team coordination.
Responsibilities
- Structures the launching of new projects, evaluates the risks, sets financial objectives and the operating strategy, and implements an efficient internal and external communication plan
- Responsible for defining a technical strategy and a supply plan in collaboration with the System Engineer and the Procurement Department
- Develops the general and detailed planning and coordination of all the activities required to meet established contractual and financial objectives
- Ensures a follow-up and compliance with contractual obligations, technical specifications, quality and health & safety standards
- Organizes team meetings, prepares the minutes and defines the actions for the team during the execution of the project
- Analyzes and prepares all the documentation related to the project reviews with management
- Performs a risk & opportunity evaluation and suggests a contingency plan
- Analyzes, defines and implements a contingency plan to correct any failure or inadequacy
Requirements
- Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in the field of project management in heavy industry projects (experience in hydroelectricity or energy producing equipment and related manufacturing activities an asset)
- Proven experience and accomplishments related to the efficient management of projects with an inherent complexity and an accelerated schedule
- Proven leadership and team spirit, innovative
- Excellent listening skills as well verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in French and in English
- Availability to travel, as necessary
- Bachelor of Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (an asset)
- PMP Certificate (an asset)
