Arcadis municipal infrastructure project manager leading GTA water, wastewater, and stormwater projects. Overseeing design, construction, trenchless solutions, clients, contractors, and Ontario compliance.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage municipal infrastructure projects involving watermain, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer systems from concept development through detailed design and construction
Oversee and review engineering design deliverables, including plans, profiles, specifications, and cost estimates
Coordinate with municipal clients such as the City of Toronto, Region of Peel, and Mississauga
Interface with utilities and regulatory agencies throughout project phases
Provide technical leadership on design decisions, constructability, and risk management
Support and review construction methodologies, focusing on microtunneling, horizontal directional drilling (HDD), and pipe bursting
Interface with contractors during construction
Manage requests for information (RFIs), handle change orders, and provide site support
Mentor junior and intermediate staff and contribute to team development
Ensure compliance with Ontario standards (OPSS/OPSD), municipal guidelines, and permitting requirements
Support proposal development by defining scope, providing technical input, preparing cost estimates, and developing schedules
Lead and facilitate meetings with clients, contractors, review agencies, and governing authorities
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) is required
Minimum 10-15 years of experience in municipal linear infrastructure (water, sanitary, storm); non-related experience will not be considered
Proven experience designing major municipal infrastructure projects in Ontario
Strong understanding of construction practices and sequencing for underground infrastructure
Demonstrated experience managing projects within the GTA and working with local municipalities
Ability to lead technical discussions and make sound engineering decisions
Experience with trenchless construction methods is highly valued
Experience in large municipal programs is highly valued
Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Civil 3D is beneficial for review purposes, though not required
P.Eng. designation in Ontario is a strong asset but not mandatory
