About the role

Digital Court Reporter capturing and monitoring Canadian legal proceedings for Array, a technology-driven legal solutions provider. Recording audio, maintaining annotations, and supporting accurate confidential legal records remotely.

Responsibilities

Record and monitor legal proceedings, including examinations for discovery, arbitrations, hearings, and other legal events
Monitor audio quality throughout proceedings to ensure a clear and accurate record
Maintain detailed notes and annotations during proceedings
Work professionally with lawyers, adjudicators, judges, clients, and other legal professionals
Maintain strict confidentiality at all times
Complete proficiency assessments before accepting assignments
Provide services as an independent contractor and determine availability for assignments
Perform remote or onsite assignments, typically Monday through Friday during standard business hours, with additional opportunities outside those hours
Potentially provide transcription services and other related work based on exceptional performance

Two or more years of digital court reporting, court reporting, legal support, or related experience ideal
Candidates with transferable skills and demonstrated ability to succeed are encouraged to apply
Candidates with less than two years of digital court reporting experience must complete the Digital Court Reporter Training Program
Successfully complete proficiency assessments before accepting assignments
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent listening and concentration skills
Strong written communication skills, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation
Strong reading comprehension and information-processing skills
Proficient keyboarding and computer skills
Professional demeanor and presentation
Ability to remain calm and effective in fast-paced or high-pressure situations
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work independently and reliably
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
Fluency in written and spoken English and/or French
Must provide proof of eligibility to work in Canada
Must complete a background check
