- Regina-based remote reporter breaking news and producing enterprise journalism on Saskatchewan politics, business and national issues for The Globe and Mail. Developing sources and compelling stories across formats.
Responsibilities
- Frequently pitch fresh, compelling story ideas
- Develop sources to break news and produce exclusive stories
- Write clearly and on deadline
- Collaborate with colleagues across the department and wider newsroom to brainstorm story ideas and determine the best storytelling approach
- Work with reporters in bureaus across the country on business, politics and national news stories
- Tell stories about Saskatchewan with wider national relevance
- Think beyond standard storytelling formats
- Participate in Globe subscriber events
Requirements
- At least five years experience reporting for a news organization
- Interest and experience covering politics and business
- Flair for telling stories in Saskatchewan that will resonate beyond the province
- Strong writing with versatile range, from hard news to human-interest feature to explanatory
- Solid news judgment with a track record of enterprise work
- Comfortable working in a variety of formats, including live blogs, newsletters, video and audio
- Must be based in Regina
- Must be able to travel regularly on assignment
- Cover letter with three links to previous work and resume required
