Responsibilities
Frequently pitch fresh, compelling story ideas
Develop sources to break news and produce exclusive stories
Write clearly and on deadline
Collaborate with colleagues across the department and wider newsroom to brainstorm story ideas and determine the best storytelling approach
Explore storytelling formats beyond standard formats
Participate in Globe subscriber events
Work with reporters in bureaus across the country on business, politics and national news stories
Cover Saskatchewan issues including climate policy, Indigenous rights, Western relations with Ottawa, and the U.S. trade war
Requirements
At least five years experience reporting for a news organization
Interest and experience covering politics and business
Flair for telling stories in Saskatchewan that will resonate beyond the province
Strong writing with versatile range, from hard news to human-interest feature to explanatory
Solid news judgment with a track record of enterprise work
Comfortable working in a variety of formats, including live blogs, newsletters, video and audio
Based in Regina
Able to travel regularly on assignment
