About the role
- Financial markets reporter leading The Globe and Mail’s daily live blog. Delivering fast market updates, analysis, and investor-focused coverage from Toronto.
Responsibilities
- Lead the daily live markets blog on weekdays
- Break news and offer exclusive insights that distinguish the live markets coverage
- Monitor financial data and wire sources for relevant news
- Solicit contributions from beat reporters to enrich the live blog
- Collaborate with editorial and product colleagues on improvements to live blog format, functionality and design
- Use audience feedback and metrics to guide coverage
- Tailor coverage over time to reflect audience interests and create unique market coverage
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience writing on investing or financial markets
- Ability to write quickly and clearly on complex financial topics
- Experience using audience analytics tools to understand trends
- Experience using real-time financial data sources, such as the Bloomberg Terminal
- Ability to use data visualization tools to create stock charts and other graphics
- Resume written by the applicant, not AI

- Minimum of two days a week in the Toronto office
