Compensation manager shaping rewards programs for Article, a furniture company redefining the industry. Owning compensation cycles, benefits strategy, job architecture, and people analytics.
Responsibilities
Own Article’s annual compensation cycle end-to-end, including budget planning, governance, job benchmarking, manager communication, and execution
Lead salary benchmarking and market pricing, including relationships with compensation survey providers and annual salary-range reviews
Build and maintain compensation structures across Canada, the US, Vietnam, and international employees through Deel
Price new roles and manage Article’s job catalogue in HiBob
Own and evolve job architecture and leveling frameworks
Provide compensation training and guidance to managers and employees
Lead pay transparency work and BC pay equity reporting
Monitor total rewards trends and market competitiveness
Lead benefits strategy and plan design with brokers and vendors across Canada, the US, and Vietnam
Own vendor selection and renewal negotiations
Ensure benefits programs align with Article’s principles and evolve with new geographies and business lines
Partner with People Operations on the transition from benefits strategy to day-to-day administration
Build and maintain P&C dashboards and executive reporting
Translate compensation and people data into insights and recommendations for P&C and business leaders
Collaborate using G Suite and Slack
Requirements
7+ years of progressive compensation experience
At least 2–3 years owning an annual merit or compensation cycle end-to-end, including budget planning, governance, communication, and execution
Hands-on salary benchmarking and market pricing experience
Experience managing relationships with compensation survey providers such as Radford, Mercer, Aon, or similar
Experience building and maintaining salary structures using compensation survey and market data
Experience designing compensation structures for corporate, Retail/frontline, and hourly/Logistics populations
Multi-country compensation experience, ideally including Canada and the US
Experience with job architecture and leveling, including pricing new roles, maintaining a job catalogue, and consistently applying a leveling framework
Benefits program ownership, including broker/vendor work on plan design, vendor selection, renewals, and negotiations in at least one market
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills
Experience managing, extracting, and analyzing compensation and employee data in an HRIS; HiBob experience
Ability to work with large datasets and produce recommendations and reporting
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Legally able to work in Canada
Completion of criminal background check
Occasional travel may be required to support US or Vietnam stakeholder and vendor relationships
Benefits
Annual salary of $120,000 to $140,000 CAD
