About the role
- Software Developer building Asteris’s Keystone PACS for veterinary diagnostic imaging. Developing DICOM workflows, integrations, and highly available image services.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain features across the Keystone PACS platform
- Work with DICOM data and imaging workflows, including storage, transfer, viewing, and reporting
- Build and support integrations with imaging modalities and practice management systems
- Design services focused on high availability, scalability, performance, and observability
- Take end-to-end ownership of quality, testing, and production readiness
- Write clean, well-documented code and participate in code and design reviews
- Build prototypes and proofs of concept to evaluate new technologies
- Work with the Support team to identify and fix performance, scalability, and production issues
- Collaborate with Product and Support to translate client needs into solutions
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional software development experience
- Hands-on experience with medical imaging, PACS, and the DICOM standard
- Strong skills in a modern object-oriented language, such as C# / .NET or C++
- Experience with relational databases and SQL
- Solid understanding of networking and client/server architecture
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote team
- Experience with HL7 or healthcare integrations
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, and image storage at scale
- Experience with 3D rendering or advanced image viewers
