About the role

Managing Director overseeing financial performance, strategy, and daily operations for ASSA ABLOY’s access-solutions business. Leading site teams and manufacturing operations in Winnipeg.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations of assigned business units
Create and implement strategies to grow the business and improve utilization of human resources and production assets
Communicate strategy and results to unit employees
Develop tactical programs and coordinate functional and direct-report KPIs
Monitor results toward KPI objectives
Directly manage key functional leaders
Engage in hiring and talent development programs
Ensure delivery and quality of company offerings to customers
Drive plant-operations initiatives to improve operational excellence
Engage in key or targeted customer activities
Evaluate and decide on investments in equipment, infrastructure, and talent
Model company behavior, communication, compliance, and servant leadership
Mentor the organization in following the Strategic Road Map commitments
Travel locally between locations and to customer or vendor sites
Perform other duties as required
Collaborate with business-segment leaders and supervise the site leadership team

A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Management or similar
A minimum of eight (8) years of comprehensive leadership experience; experience in a manufacturing environment and/or commercial installation/service business is preferred
At least five (5) years of P&L accountability
Comprehensive understanding of financial statements, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow
Proficiency in ERP systems to extract and analyze supply chain, manufacturing, and sales data
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products; intermediate-level Word and Excel proficiency is essential
Professional verbal and written communication skills in English
Valid Driver License and acceptable driving record
Valid Passport and ability to travel internationally may be required
Ability to travel occasionally, including some overnight and international travel
Ability to perform the listed physical functions, including sitting for extended periods, traversing facilities and yards, climbing stairs, occasional bending/reaching, lifting/pushing/pulling up to 25 lbs, and operating a motor vehicle or golf cart
