About the role

Responsibilities

  • Actively contribute to the success of mining or industrial site projects
  • Managing on-site client requests and validating needs to define project scopes
  • Managing detailed engineering mandates and the design of electrical and/or instrumentation and control systems
  • Leading and managing project teams assigned to your portfolios
  • Coordinating contractor work on site with various stakeholders (operations, maintenance, and contractors)
  • Monitoring construction activities on site and supporting commissioning teams
  • Creating or updating documentation for operational handover (asset inventory, technical manuals, maintenance plans, lockout/tagout documentation, etc.)
  • Tracking and managing project budgets
  • Performing site surveys and field measurements as required

Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a Technical Diploma (DEC) in Instrumentation and Control or Industrial Electronics, or have any other combination of education and experience deemed equivalent
  • Have more than three (3) years of experience in a mining environment or heavy industry
  • Have experience in electrical distribution systems, 600–120/240V motor control centers, variable frequency drives (VFDs), programmable logic controllers (Modicon–Schneider), control networks, measurement instruments (level, flow, pressure, density, analyzers, etc.), and control valves
  • Be able to perform effectively under pressure during commissioning activities
  • Demonstrate solid knowledge of project, team, and budget management
