Responsibilities
Prepare electrical plans and detailed single-line diagrams
Perform short-circuit, coordination, protection and arc-flash studies using EasyPower, ETAP or other software
Calculate and prepare protection relay settings
Prepare specifications for the procurement of low- and medium-voltage equipment
Review and analyze bids related to electrical equipment
Coordinate projects in direct contact with the client
Oversee and participate in electrical design
Supervise a team of engineers and technicians
Design low- and medium-voltage electrical distribution, wiring, cable trays, motor connections and grounding systems
Participate in projects from design through commissioning, continuous improvement of facilities and modernization of industrial infrastructure
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
Minimum of 8 years of relevant electrical experience, including in the mining & metals, petrochemical and aluminum industries
Licensed member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
Strong knowledge of industrial environments
Ability to work effectively in a team
Proficiency with ETAP, EasyPower or other electrical study software
Knowledge of arc-flash standards
Ability to lead electrical projects
Completion of the “General Health and Safety on Construction Sites” course
Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project and Outlook
Fluent in spoken and written French
Knowledge of English required to interact with primarily English-speaking clients and suppliers located outside Quebec
